Powerful words from a remarkable woman. Short and succinct. Rep. Jordan and Rep. Shirley Chisholm were two amazing women whose contributions to this country cannot be overestimated. I wonder what they would have to say about the current state of affairs in this country.

I'm so blessed that while growing up in the Jim Crow South , I had the examples of Shirley Chisholm, Barbara Jordan and many other remarkable strong women ( black and white) set before me.... anytime I see footage of them, I think, " if only"....we are about to cross that threshold

Barbara Jordan has been the consummate professional and intellectual speaker of our historic lifetime. Her persistence to make this world a better place for ALL is remarkable. She has been my mentor..exact..intellectual and would have had the opportunity to be the first Woman President had she not passed. I applaud her words of inclusion at the Democratic National Convention. God Bless America.

Yes I remember the 1976 DNC convention I remember Jimmy Carter and I also remember the same fear tactics presented in the name of terror and insecurity but that was then this is now. The dynamics have changed just as they had in 1981 but today we no longer have Joe who could’ve beaten former President Trump. Oh how I looked toward to the 2024 DNC Convention but now the VP has been selected ! Without a vote from my party! I will not vote for the DNC Appointee Ms Harris, her run in 2020 was horrific she was a State Senator of California back in the day, that alone disqualified her in my personal estimation… Walz justification runs with a whole lot of Minnesota issues of his own! Y’all gotta stop fear mongering Trump or he will wipe the floor with no regrets. I switched parties because I believe in my party (Democratic Party), but something has gone wrong when you don’t allow the democratic process to play out! I Will Not Cast My Vote on party line this election 🤷🏽

Wow, this was before she was even technically a politician. I know I watched this convention but really most people outside of California probably didn't find her memorable until she became a senator and was nailing supreme court nominees with tough questions.
